Michèle George honorary citizen of Waregem: “I am very moved”

In the presence of Mayor Kurt Vanryckegem and Alderman of Sport Kristof Chanterie, Michèle George was presented with the bronze horse head this morning. Last year she won gold twice at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo. She also won that medal in London, and in Rio she took gold once and silver.

For the city council it is self-evident that she will become the honorary citizen of Waregem. “The vote was unanimous,” says mayor Vanryckegem. “It makes sense that she gets the trophy,” says Chanterie. Michèle herself is also impressed, she said afterwards.
