The plenary session, by eight votes to three, is reaffirmed in waiting for the CGPJ to also do theirs before holding the plenary session
The plenary of constitutional Court has rejected for eight votes to three the magistrate’s intent Candid Count-Pumpido sources from the high court informed EL PERIÓDICO DE ESPAÑA, from the Prensa Ibérica group, to advance the meeting in which the go-ahead will be given to the magistrates appointed by the Government.
A large majority of the plenary of the Constitutional Court has reaffirmed the decision it adopted this Tuesday, once the Council of Ministers appointed the former Minister of Justice Juan Carlos Field and to the professor and ex-advisor of Moncloa Laura Diez to join the maximum guarantor of the Magna Carta.
Once the official communication from the Government was received, the Constitutional Court addressed the General Council of the Judiciary to notify it of the appointments made, with the intention that it proceed to make its own designation, for which in principle the plenary session of the next 22 of december. In this way, the Constitutional Court would only hold a plenary session to validate the merits of the four candidates and not only those of the Government.
Conde-Pumpido’s intention was to anticipate this date to proceed to grant the pleat in two sessions, the first with the two magistrates already appointed by the Executive. In this way, they could take office regardless of the fact that the conservative hard core of the CGPJ continues to block the appointment that corresponds to the governing body of judges.
