FC Barcelona won the away game at CA Osasuna – despite goalgetter Robert Lewandowski being sent off.

Barça won 2-1 (0-1) against the team from Pamplona and temporarily extended their lead in the Primera Division to five points over Real Madrid after 14 match days. Osasuna remains sixth.

The game took an unfavorable turn for the favorite. Barça fell behind after just six minutes thanks to a header from David Garcia. Then things got worse for the Catalans, because after just over half an hour Robert Lewandowski had to leave the field with a yellow and red card.

With the elbow in the face

The former Bundesliga top scorer jumped unnecessarily into goalscorer Garcia in the opposing half and elbowed the Osasuna captain full in the face. He had previously been cautioned for pulling Nacho Vidal’s jersey.

When going into the dressing room, “substitute player” Gerard Piqué finished work. The Barça star got into a fight with referee Gil Manzano and was able to take a shower straight away.

Decision by Raphina

Barcelona coped well with being outnumbered and equalized with a goal from young star Pedri (48th). And it got even better for coach Xavi’s team. Five minutes from time, substitute Raphinha headed in a de Jong cross to win.
