FC Bayern Munich has announced the start of a football school in Taicang, China.

As the German record champions announced, the long-term partnership includes “a regular exchange of experience between Munich and Taicang as well as a constant presence of FC Bayern youth coaches who support local football in Taicang”. The aim is also to make the FC Bayern brand even better known throughout China.

The Munich team already have partnerships with football boots in China’s Qingdao, Shenzhen and Taiyuan. “We now want to continue on this path with the football school in Taicang and help to discover and develop new talent,” said CEO Oliver Kahn. There is “enormous potential” in Chinese football.

Taicang is around 50 kilometers from the center of Shanghai, where the Munich-based company has had an office since 2017. “Our FC Bayern Shanghai office and the local coaches will support football in Taicang in this new partnership,” said Marketing Director Andreas Jung.
