The Minsk agreements on the settlement of the conflict in Donbass cannot be implemented on Russian terms, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said. informs UNIAN.

Kuleba said that during the visit of foreign leaders and ministers to Ukraine, Kiev explains to them what Ukraine’s view is on the implementation of the Minsk agreements. “Because there is a Russian vision, and I assure you that the Minsk agreements cannot be implemented on Russian terms, which are based on a direct dialogue between Ukraine and ORDLO (this is how Kiev calls the territories of the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR. — RBC), which is being imposed on us,” he said.

The minister did not deny that the Minsk agreements are the basis for resolving the conflict in the southeast, but their “Russian interpretation” does not meet the “interests of Ukraine,” Kuleba said. He stressed that Ukraine will no longer “tolerate any pressure and coercion to implement something somewhere,” and now Western partners do not impose on Kiev the implementation of the agreements on Donbass in their “Russian” form.

On February 2, Kuleba, in an interview with Rzeczpospolita, said that Ukraine would not comply with the key provisions of the Minsk agreements – on the special status of Donbass and the right of veto. “Not a single region of Ukraine will have the right to veto any decisions concerning the entire country <...>. There will be no special status, as Russia imagines, there will be no veto power,” he said.
