Former assistant coach of the NFL team Kansas City Chiefs Brit Reid37, received a three-year prison sentence for drunk driving, reports Reuters.

According to the police, Britt Reid was driving his pick-up truck at a speed of 135 kilometers per hour until he crashed into two cars on the side of the road. The crash happened two days before the Super Bowl, where the Chiefs faced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The alcohol content measured in Reid’s blood was 1.13 parts per thousand. In the state of Missouri, the drink driving limit is 0.8 BAC.
The now six-year-old girl suffered a skull fracture, brain contusions and subdural hemorrhage in the crash. He still can’t walk normally. According to the mother, the child also suffers from other physical and psychological symptoms.
Reid admitted to driving under the influence and said he regretted his actions.
Reid served as an assistant coach for the Chiefs since 2013. The club did not renew his contract due to “legal problems”.
