In the Saturday evening 24/7 broadcast of the Big Brother Suomi program Ree and Mia they got a secret mission where they had to scare the other residents of the house in accordance with Halloween.
On the night between Saturday and Sunday, the two decided to implement the trick. Mia went to lie down on the terrace of the house and Reeo was supposed to scare the other residents – albeit with the help of Big Brother.
Big Brother started hollering Mia’s name as an emergency announcement and the other residents woke up looking for Mia.
They found Mia “sleeping” outside the house until Reeo startled the sleepy roommates dressed in a clown suit.
The situation soon calmed down, but the residents trudged back to their beds. There was a debate on social media about whether Big Brother used the emergency announcement in a tasteless way for no reason.
Similar announcements have been heard in previous seasons when residents were, for example, in danger of choking on vomit while drunk.
Big Brother Finland on the official website it is commented that this should not have worked. The production apologizes and learns for the future.
The release explains how the chain of events started as a result of a misjudgment in the working group. They joined the intimidation carried out by the contestants with the voice of Big Brother, using the emergency announcement to wake up the residents..
It was added to the release that the situation has been discussed with both the working group and the residents, and it is clear that in the future the emergency announcement will only be used for an appropriate need.
