All eyes will be on Teemu Selänte’s son on Friday in Kajaani, where Hokki will host the Heinola team.
Selänne is aware of the pressure created by his name.
– It’s a bit exciting that the gang is confusing the name. There has also been interest in the USA because of the name, but here in Finland the interest still seems to be from a completely different world, says Selänne in an interview with ESS.
Selänne has come to Finland in the name of his own hockey career. The 24-year-old attacker, who appeared in the Little Lions shirt in 2015, sets tough goals for himself.
– The goal is to get to the League and then back to North America. The NHL is still a dream, says Selänne.
Besides the hockey career, there is another thing that draws you to Finland. Selänne wants to complete his military service in Finland.
– Now that school is over, there is no reason why I can’t join the army. The 3rd of June should start, says Selänne.
