Experienced Simon Geschke will be riding for the French cycling team Cofidis for two more years. The 36-year-old has agreed with the team to extend his contract, Cofidis announced.
Geschke caused a sensation at the Tour de France in the summer when he wore the polka dot jersey of the mountain king for nine days. Shortly before Paris, however, he had to give up the lead to Tour Champion Jonas Vingegaard.
“I really like my role in the team”
“I would like to continue my career until 2024. I like my role in the team very much. As in previous years, I enjoy my role as a teammate, supporting the captain and, if I feel in good shape, my chance myself to search”, said Geschke.
Born in Berlin, he has been driving for Cofidis since 2021. Geschke celebrated his greatest success in 2015 with the tour stage victory in Pra-Loup.
