At least 3.3 million visitors walked through Efteling in 2021 to experience the magic. This makes it the second most visited theme park in Europe. Only Disneyland Park managed to attract more visitors, according to the annual international ranking of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA).
The Efteling is just one of the six parks in Europe who managed to get more than two million visitors into the park in 2021. The Europa Park in Germany, good for about three million visitors, closes the top three. The six parks with more than two million visitors are:
- Disneyland Park: 3.5 million
- Efteling: 3.3 million
- Europa Park: 3 million
- Tivoli Gardens: 2.4 million
- Portaventura world: 2.4 million
- Gardaland: 2.2 million
Substantial reductions
The figures show that the parks have suffered a lot from the corona crisis. The numbers are higher than in 2020, but much lower than in 2019.
In that year Disneyland Park still had 9.7 million visitors, the Efteling still had 5.26 million visitors through the gates. These figures are not about ‘unique persons’, those who stay in the park for several days are also counted several times.
