Ringo Starr has been infected again with the corona virus. It’s the second time this month that The Beatle has had to go into quarantine. That’s why he announced on Thursday (October 13) that all his other tour dates must also be canceled.

“I’m sure you’ll be as surprised as I am that I tested positive for Covid again,” the 82-year-old wrote on Instagram. “The rest of the tour must be cancelled, I send you peace and love.”

Ringo Starr and Corona

To put it politely, the corona virus is not good for the Beatle and his band: A few days ago, his first corona infection led to five concert cancellations in Canada. In June, Starr had to reschedule 12 dates because two members of his All-Starr Band – Steve Lukather and Edgar Winter – tested positive.

The renewed corona infection brings another five gigs that have to be canceled – three in California and two in Mexico. After all, Ringo’s “EP3” also featured new music from him in July. It’s a four-song collection Starr recorded with Lukather, former 4 Non Blondes singer Linda Perry, saxophonist Dave Koz and flamenco guitarist Jose Antonio Rodriguez.

The drummer was heard on Eddie Vedder’s solo album Earthling back in February.
