British artist Damien Hirst announced it and he is now performing it. Buyers of the works from his latest project ‘The Currency’ could choose the physical copy or have it burned and only keep the digital version in the form of an NFT. Thousands of buyers chose the latter and Hirst started the burning at his gallery in London on Tuesday. He will continue to do so until the end of October.
