Defending champion Lavreysen won his heat, Hoogland finished second. At keirin, six riders enter the track, who sprint for the win after six laps. The top two from each heat advance to the next round. For the others, including Tijmen van Loon, there will be retakes. Van Loon crashed in his heat, but did not appear to have suffered any serious injuries.
