VfB Stuttgart: Zsolt Löw is apparently a top candidate for a coaching job

Would be 1st station as head coach

VfB Stuttgart have considered an inexperienced coach when looking for a successor for Pellegrino Matarazzo, who was sacked on Monday. Noisy sky Zsolt Löw is the Swabian top candidate. The 43-year-old was most recently Thomas Tuchel’s assistant at Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain and won the Champions League with the Blues in 2021. For the Hungarian, who has been without a club since September, it would be the first station as the main coach.

The first talks between Löw and VfB are said to have already taken place, ideally the new head coach should be presented by the weekend. On Saturday, Stuttgart will meet VfL Bochum at 3:30 p.m. at home. A defeat would mean 18th place in the table.

At the end of last week, the “kicker” brought in coaches with more Bundesliga experience in Adi Hütter and Sebastian Hoeneß. However, Löw is not entirely unfamiliar with the German House of Lords. Between 2015 and 2018 he worked as an assistant to Ralph Hasenhüttl and Ralf Rangnick at RB Leipzig, as a player he played a total of 47 Bundesliga games for Energie Cottbus, TSG Hoffenheim and Mainz 05.
