Minister of Telecommunications Petra De Sutter wants to simplify the system for easily switching telecom operator, called Easy Switch. That system has been in existence for over five years, but it still does not work flawlessly. “The teething problems are going away. The threshold to a cheaper competitor is lower,” says the Greens minister. If a technician does not show up, the customer will also be entitled to a higher compensation. De Sutter worked on a Royal Decree on this that will be published today in the Official Gazette. It will come into effect within a year.
