After two defeats, the Eisbären Berlin celebrated another victory in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). On Sunday afternoon, the German champions beat Düsseldorfer EG 5-2 (3-1, 0-1, 2-0).

Matt White scored twice, while Peter Regin, Zach Boychuk and Giovanni Fiore scored for the capitals, who improved on offense from previous games and picked up all three points for the first time this season.

The 9687 spectators in the arena at the Ostbahnhof saw a balanced game from the start with a few scoring opportunities for both sides.

The hosts were not deterred by the goal from Düsseldorf’s Stephen MacAulay, continued to play forward and were rewarded with goals from White, Regin and Boychuk until the first break.

Both teams also created a number of chances in the second third, but only the guests were able to convert one of them: Former Eisbären professional Daniel Fischbuch scored the goal. The capitals had to fear for success in the final section for a long time before White calmed their nerves with his second goal.
