Djokovic reaches Tel Aviv final

Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic is in the final in Tel Aviv after winning two sets. In the semi-finals of the ATP tournament, the 35-year-old defeated Roman Safiullin from Russia 6-1, 7-6 (7-3).

In the final, Djokovic meets the winner of the game between Constant Lestienne (France) and Marin Cilic (Croatia). The 21-time Grand Slam winner had recently slipped to seventh place in the ATP world rankings – he was unable to start at the US Open due to a lack of corona vaccination.

At the tournament in Sofia, Holger Rune is in the final. In the semifinals, the Dane beat Italy’s Jannik Sinner, who was first seeded and gave up in the third set (7:5, 4:6, 2:5), and meets Marc-Andrea Huesler from Switzerland.

Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka and Denis Shapovalov (Canada) will meet in the final of the Seoul tournament. All finals are scheduled for Sunday.
