New month, new streaming offer on Amazon Prime Video. In October, the provider will once again be adding a few new series and many new films to its program. TECHBOOK reveals what’s new to see.
Amazon is one of the largest video streaming providers out there. Prime customers of the online retailer can not only use free premium shipping for EUR 89.90 per year or EUR 8.99 per month (then can be canceled monthly), they also have two streaming services, Amazon Prime Music and Amazon Prime Video to disposal.
So that Amazon Prime Video can keep up with competitors like Netflix and Disney+, the provider expands the selection of series and films every month. The company also produces its own content under the Amazon Originals name. TECHBOOK reveals which new films and series Amazon Prime Video customers can look forward to in October 2022. It should be noted, however, that the offer can be expanded by Amazon at any time.
New series and seasons on Amazon Prime Video in October
As usual, the number of new series or seasons that Prime Video will add to its program in October is limited compared to the competition. But the new products are impressive. Among other things, users can look forward to the third season of the series “Step Up”, which is loosely based on the film series of the same name. There is also an original from Amazon itself such as “The Peripheral”. In addition, episodes of “The Rings of Power”, the spin-off series to the well-known “Lord of the Rings” saga, are still coming every week.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (Season 1) – Coming September 2nd
The series highlight of the past month of September was probably the new “Lord of the Rings” series from Amazon Prime Video. Thousands of years before the events of Peter Jackson’s well-known films, Middle-earth already has a lot to offer. Because while the free peoples feel safe after a bloody war, a dark power is gaining strength in secret. A new episode will continue to appear every Friday in October. The Peripheral (Season 1) – out October 21
Another Amazon original based on a novel, The Peripheral, launches in October. Flynne Fisher (Chloë Grace Moretz) lives a perfectly normal life in a small town – until she meets her brother. Through him and a mysterious high-tech device, Flynne gains access to an alternate futuristic reality.

New movies on Amazon Prime Video in October
In October, Amazon Prime Video users can again look forward to a large selection of new films. Well-known big cinema hits such as “A Star Is Born” are represented as well as films from this year. For example, in the Halloween month of October, horror fans can look forward to horror from a wide variety of genres and age groups with films such as Tim Burton’s “Corpse Bride” or the dark second part of “ES”. But titles like “Judas and the Black Messiah” or “Argentina, 1985” ensure a lot of top-class diversity.
A Star Is Born – from October 1st
When beat-up rock star Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper) discovers talented singer Ally Campana (Lady Gaga), sparks spark – both musically and personally. Jackson encourages her and the two become lovers. However, her growing success is troubling him and his alcohol addiction is increasingly putting the relationship to the test.
Spencer – from October 13th
Kristen Stewart plays Diana Spencer in this film, who in 1991 begins to question her marriage to Prince Charles.
Argentina, 1985 – from October 21st
In 1985 Argentina, a dedicated team of lawyers is preparing to indict high-ranking representatives of the military dictatorship. Not only are they exposed to a lot of stress, they also increasingly see their lives in danger.
Corpse Bride – from October 28th
A curious marriage takes place between Victor and Emily in this animated film directed by Tim Burton. The unusual thing: He is alive and kicking, she actually died.
