An increased number of inflammatory cells in the brain is associated with cognitive complaints in cancer patients after their treatment. This is apparent from research by doctoral student Gwen Schroyen (KU Leuven). For the first time, the increased amount of inflammatory cells could be clearly visualized in the brains of treated cancer patients.
