French footballers also see Digne lose weight
In the football selection of France, Lucas Digne also dropped out in the run-up to the matches with Austria and Denmark in the Nations League. The national association says the Aston Villa defender is too bothered by an ankle injury. He is replaced by Adrien Truffert van Rennes.
Digne had been added to the selection a day earlier, after Theo Hernández (AC Milan) was not fit enough. Goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris also withdrew due to an injury. National coach Didier Deschamps also misses attacker Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) and midfielder Paul Pogba (Juventus), among others.
