Tahmina Akefi, who is the last girlfriend of the late Peter R. de Vries eagerly seeking publicity, is under heavy fire. She is accused of being the new Rachel Hazes. “Is it about money?”
She causes more and more annoyance: Tahmina Akefi, the last girlfriend of the murdered Peter R. de Vries. They kept their relationship a secret for six years – she didn’t want to be known as ‘the girlfriend of’ – but now that he’s dead, she’s suddenly popping up everywhere. She has revealed intimate details about Peter in a TV documentary and is now also coming out with a book.
The new Rachel
Crime reporter Henk Strootman is annoyed by this woman, he writes in his Panoramacolumn. “The Netherlands has a new Rachel Hazes. Her name: Tahmina Akefi. In his own words, the last great love of Peter R. de Vries and we will know that too. For we cannot say that Tahmina mourns in silence.”
It started with her speech at the memorial service in Carré, he says. “That already caused some inconvenience among the guests. Not bothered by the presence of Peter’s ex-wife Jacqueline and his children Royce and Kelly, she shared her story. About how Peter had called her his ‘greatest love’.”
“I felt vicarious shame. And not just me, that’s what I heard after the service.”
“Is it about money?”
Tahmina has shared the most intimate details about Peter in her TV docu, including text messages and private photos. Henk: “I’ve known Peter for 33 years and I honestly think he would have hated that peddling intimate details. Peter was very attached to his privacy, had a crush on tabloids and drew clear boundaries.”
So now Tahmina also comes with a book. “Why Tahmina, I think, why? What is it that you think people are waiting for? Is it about attention? For money? For a stepping stone into the television world?”
business model
The Story writes this week that there is dissatisfaction rules over Tahmina within Peter’s family. Yvonne Coldeweijer also has that information. She states that it started with that TV documentary: “The family was like: we would have preferred to keep this to ourselves, it is nobody’s business what his condition was and when he was already brain dead.”
Yvonne fears that Tahmina wants to milk everything to the last drop. “Tahmina is developing a whole business model around her boyfriend’s death. Are we dealing here with Rachel Hazes the second? I most certainly hope not. I don’t think it’s classy what this lady is doing. She is now milking it in a very ostentatious way.”
obsessive typo
Even worse: according to Yvonne, Tahmina is not quite right. The juice queen shares her private juice channel a very fierce gossip about the time when Tahmina was still working at the NOS. It is an extreme story that has not been confirmed and for which Yvonne has only one source, which she also admits frankly. “The source is very reliable.”
Yvonne resolutely: “Tahmina is not quite right. If this is true, then she is not tracking. When I hear stories like this, and I get a sense of what kind of person this is – some sort of obsessive, pathological type – I think it’s good that we know this. What the f*ck is this for a person?”
