Ex-VfB Stuttgart: Sasa Kalajdzic with cruciate ligament tear in the first Wolves game

Month-long forced break

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the cruciate ligament rupture in Sasa Kalajdzic (25). The “Wolves” announced on Friday that the Austrian had an operation on his knee last Tuesday and that the procedure went well. The attacker now expects a compulsory break of nine months. It was said that this is usually the downtime with such an injury.

For Kalajdzic, the start at his new club could not have been more unfortunate. He was injured on his Premier League debut against Southampton FC earlier this month and had to be ruled out at half-time. Kalajdzic had just days earlier moved from VfB Stuttgart to Wolverhampton for €18m, where he signed a contract until 2027. “Unfortunately I won’t be able to help the team for the next few months but I will work hard to be back as soon as possible and even stronger than before,” he wrote on Instagram after the game.
