The driver suddenly drove down a dike from a standstill on Saturday 27 August. There was a barbecue going on there at the time, organized by the local ice club.
Lawyer Felix Laros now says the Spanish driver, Juan, had an epileptic seizure. According to the lawyer, the driver has had epileptic seizures in the past. It is said to be attacks in his youth, but the man is still taking medication for it under the care of a doctor. Laros calls it a fatal accident. No drugs or alcohol were involved, police said.
