The Foxes mastered the dress rehearsal for the start of the Handball Bundesliga with ease. On Thursday evening, the Berliners clearly won the last test match in the Franconian Roßtal against the league rivals HC Erlangen with 34:29 (20:14).

The best Berlin throwers were Hans Lindberg with seven and Jacob Holm and Mathias Gidsel with five goals each.

The foxes still had to do without head coach Jaron Siewert, who is on sick leave until the start of the season. Even without their coach, the Berliners dominated the game – mainly thanks to a strong offensive performance in the first half.

Manager Bob Hanning, who was helping out as a coach again, was not entirely satisfied. “We missed out on a slightly higher result due to the exploitation of chances. Especially the wingers didn’t have their best day today,” he said. Nevertheless, he also drew a positive conclusion: “Basically, I am satisfied with the very good fighting attitude.”

The Berliners start the new season on September 4th in their home Max-Schmeling-Halle against Frisch Auf Göppingen.
