For investigators, Mario Z. (63) is a “ticking time bomb”! Dangerous question: will he strike again only to end up in jail again?
According to BZ information, the police are already preparing for his release at high pressure. The officials should monitor the dangerous criminals at every step. In similar cases, up to 20 officers were needed…
►The crazy case: On September 19, 2016, Mario Z. stabbed a social worker in Neukölln with a fighting knife. “I wanted to kill her to avoid homelessness,” was the ex-taxi driver’s confused statement at the trial.
►The judgment: Five years imprisonment, placement in a psychiatric hospital – for attempted manslaughter. According to the verdict, he “acted in delusion”. The judge assumes “significantly reduced criminal responsibility”. But Mario Z. would rather go to jail than to go to the clinic – and is successfully taking action against the verdict. “I want to join the common criminals,” he says.
►the Process reissue: After the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) received the first verdict, the new guilty verdict followed on January 15, 2019: 5 years and 10 months in prison – this time for attempted murder.
Mario Z. is said to have already announced in prison that he would rather stay. There is a great danger that he will become violent again! About his knife victim from the past, he says: It is still “a reasonable consideration to kill her”.
Apparently every means is right for him to get back behind bars …
