Yusuf Owega is back

Successful start for Jusuf Owega at the fifth stop of the ADAC GT Masters season at the Lausitzring: The Audi driver from the Montaplast by Land-Motorsport team set a best time of 1:21.986 minutes in first free practice on Friday morning and was the only starter to remain below the 1st place mark :22 minutes.

The young man from Cologne in the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II #29 proved that he and his driver colleague Ricardo Feller can still be counted on in the fight for the title.

Konsta Lappalainen and Mick Wishofer finished second in the #14 Emil Frey Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo, just over a tenth of a second down. Teammates Jack Aitken and Albert Costa finished third in the #63 Lamborghini.

The fastest Mercedes-AMG drivers in the first practice session were Fabian Schiller and Jules Gounon from Team ZVO. Championship leader Raffaele Marciello and his new driver colleague Daniel Juncadella from Team Landgraf completed the top 5 in the #48 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

A cloudy sky greeted the 22 driver duos on Friday morning in the first free practice session at the Lausitzring. With track temperatures of over 23 degrees, the drivers didn’t need long to warm up the tires and set fast lap times. On the 3.478-kilometre circuit, Jusuf Owega set his best time after 14 minutes, which was not beaten by the end of the one-hour session.
