Laila Youssifou and Roos de Jong delivered the fourth medal to the Netherlands on Saturday at the European rowing championships in Munich. The Dutch duo took silver in the double sculls behind unapproachable Romania. The Olympic champion was in a class of its own in a time of 7.14.85. Youssifou and De Jong conceded just under 7 seconds on Ancuta Bodnar and Simona Radis. Italy finished third.
The new Dutch duo in the double sculls had already won a World Cup competition twice this year. De Jong won bronze with Lisa Scheenaard at the Tokyo Olympics last year.
Earlier in Munich there was already silver for the Netherlands in the double four in the women and the four without in the men. Ymkje Clevering and Veronique Meester took the bronze in the two without.
The world championships are in the Czech Republic in a month.
