The footballer picked up the ball in his own goal area. He thought he was taking a goal kick, but had just received the ball from goalkeeper Kremers.
The first half was even and created chances for both teams. In the 26th minute Rasmussen was close to scoring, but Roda keeper De Boer saved with his feet. Ten minutes later, Roda JC seemed to take the lead, but Mpie’s goal was disallowed due to offside.

After an incredible blunder by Jong Ajax defender Pierie, Vente converted a penalty for Roda JC in the 67th minute. The defender thought he was going to take a goal kick and put the ball ready with his hands. However, this was not the case because Pierie had just received the ball from goalkeeper Kremers. And so the team from Amsterdam conceded a bizarre penalty.
For Pierie, the grapes were completely sour, because the penalty used was the only goal of the evening.
