External forces have to fill teaching days
Amsterdam – The teacher shortage in primary schools is so acute that schools are increasingly unable to put their own teachers in front of the class five days a week. In Amsterdam, between 50 and 100 schools will fill part of the week with guest lessons from external staff next year. Almere and The Hague are the next cities to help set up such a system, in which lessons such as language and math are replaced by ‘making art from waste’ and ‘developing your own chocolate’.
