BZ had already reported it on Sunday, now it’s official! Hertha has strengthened with playmaker Jean-Paul Boëtius (28). The Dutchman comes on a free transfer, signed on Monday after the medical checks in Berlin until 2025. He gets the famous number 10!
The attacking midfielder has played for FSV Mainz since the summer of 2018, where he scored 12 goals in 122 Bundesliga games and also prepared 22 goals. Hertha’s new coach Sandro Schwarz also worked there with Boëtius.
Hertha manager Fredi Bobic (50) enthuses: “Jean-Paul Boëtius has been playing in the Bundesliga for four years and has regularly demonstrated his qualities in Mainz. He’s a seasoned professional, knows our coach from that time and therefore knows the type of football we want to play. It’s a stroke of luck for us to get a player with such skill and league experience on a free transfer. We are delighted that he has chosen Hertha BSC.”
