Cyclist Timo Roosen will no longer start in the last stage of the Tour of Burgos. The 29-year-old cyclist from Jumbo-Visma is traveling back to the Netherlands to attend the wedding of his good friend and teammate Mike Teunissen, the team reports via Twitter.
Roosen won the second stage in the Tour of Burgos this week. In the stage, which was marred by a big crash, he crossed the finish line first ahead of teammates Eduardo Affini and Chris Harper. Roosen was in 78th place in the general classification after four stages.
Teunissen himself had not started in the penultimate stage of the Tour of Poland earlier this week because he was going to focus on his wedding. The cyclist will exchange Jumbo-Visma for Intermarché – Wanty-Gobert after this season.
