Ajax left last Sunday despite the necessary problems, towards the training camp in Austria. In the game against the reigning champion of Austria, trainer Alfred Schreuder started with a very strong starting line-up. There were again basic places for newcomers Owen Wijndal and Steven Bergwijn. Because of the departure of Lisandro Martínez to Manchester United, the central duo in the first half consisted of Perr Schuurs and Daley Blind.

penalty kick

In the warm Austrian Saalfelden, Ajax got a penalty after almost half an hour of play. Wijndal was knocked out in the penalty area after a through ball from Bergwijn and the referee could do nothing but point to the spot. Captain Dusan Tadic took advantage of the opportunity. However, Ajax could not enjoy the lead for long, because three minutes later Nicolás Capaldo scored the equalizer after Schuurs’ hesitant actions.

A nice combination between Tadic, Berghuis and Klaassen eventually ended up with Taylor, who shot the ball flawlessly into the corner: 1-3.
