Ten Hag wins again with United in preparation, assist Van de Beek | NOW

Manchester United also won the third exhibition game since manager Erik ten Hag took office on Tuesday. In Melbourne, ‘The Red Devils’ showed themselves too strong for Premier League club Crystal Palace: 3-1.

With their third win in pre-season, Manchester United are once again filling up with confidence in the run-up to the new season. Earlier, Liverpool (4-0) and Melbourne Victory (1-4) were convincingly defeated.

Tyrell Malacia did not appear in those duels from the start, but the ex-Feyenoord player did appear at the kick-off on Tuesday.

The Ten Hag formation immediately took the initiative and the score was opened after eighteen minutes via Anthony Martial. The Frenchman, who makes a good impression on this preparation, finished off after he had controlled the ball well. Malacia played an important role by moving the game from left to right with a high ball, after which the ball ended up at Martial via Diogo Dalot.

The dominant Manchester United failed to extend the margin in the first half, although given the amount of opportunities they certainly could have done so.

Manchester United runs out after the resumption

Immediately after the resumption, Van de Beek was brought in. The ex-Ajacied immediately made his mark on the match by providing the assist for Marcus Rashford’s 2-0. Crystal Palace saw one wave of attack after another and the English record champion walked further through Jadon Sancho.

Crystal Palace then saved the honor thanks to Joel Ward, who headed in from a corner. However, it didn’t seem for a moment that the Londoners could jeopardize Manchester United’s victory. Malacia was substituted just before time. Incidentally, the Ten Hag team had to finish the game with ten men due to a red card from Will Fish.

The number six of last season continues the preparation on Saturday with a duel with Aston Villa in Perth. For ‘The Red Devils’, the Premier League starts on August 7 with a home game against Brighton & Hove Albion.
