Next great performance of our football women!

The DFB women also won their third group game without conceding a goal at the European Championships in England. The team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg beat Finland 3-0 (1-0) on Saturday evening in Milton Keynes. The DFB women had already qualified for the quarter-finals next Thursday against Austria before they had finished the preliminary round.

“We were in the game from the start. It wasn’t brilliant, but we solved the task seriously,” said the national coach. “We scored three goals again and didn’t concede.”

In front of 20,721 spectators in the MK stadium, Sophia Kleinherne (40th minute), captain Alexandra Popp (48th) and Nicole Anyomi (63rd) scored against the previously eliminated Finns for the record European champions. After beating Denmark 4-0 and beating Spain 2-0, the German selection convinced again this time.

Voss-Tecklenburg still had to do without goal scorer Lea Schüller (positive corona test) and the yellow-banned defensive forces Lena Oberdorf and Felicitas Rauch. In addition, the ailing Lina Magull and Sydney Lohmann were missing.

But the favorites proved once again that they have a balanced squad.
