The transfer rumors about Robert Lewandowski as a possible departure and Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt as a possible arrival are making the headlines at FC Bayern these days. The ongoing speculation about another potential summer newcomer almost fades into the background.
According to media reports, Bayern are still working behind the scenes to expand their five-man connection to France.
The U17 national player Mathys Tel is said to have liked the German champions, he is considered one of the greatest talents in football in Europe in the offensive positions, can be used both on the wing and in the center of the attack.
FC Bayern is said to have already offered the French first division club Stade Rennes seven million euros as a fixed transfer fee. Tel is under contract in Rennes until 2024 and played his first seven Ligue 1 games last season – each as a substitute.
The previous offer is said to have been significantly too low for Stade Rennes. According to information from “sports1” FC Bayern has to offer at least double the fixed fee and add further bonus payments to make selling the top talent palatable to the club.

As the broadcaster further reports, the Bavarians, headed by sports director Hasan Salihamidzic, are planning to present an improved offer for Mathys Tel in the near future. Whether the solvent club from Rennes, which is economically secure thanks to the billionaire investor Francois Pinault, will then agree to a transfer is still open.
Bayern could play into the cards that the player himself probably wants to switch to the Bundesliga. Both those responsible for the club at Stade Rennes and head coach Bruno Génésio are said to have already been informed of Tel’s change request.
Coach Génésio is said to have described Mathys Tel as the most talented French striker since Karim Benzema.
