Cycling star Tadej Pogacar has set up a foundation for cancer research.
The two-time Tour de France winner announced that the Tadej Pogacar Cancer Research Foundation is raising funds to help fight the disease. The idea came from his personal trainer Inigo San-Millan, who is committed to a “paradigm shift in cancer research”. Put simply, research into the influence of sport on fighting cancer should be strengthened.
Former superstar Lance Armstrong, whose seven Tour de France victories were disallowed for doping, had his own cancer foundation. Before his tour victories, Armstrong suffered from testicular cancer, then founded the organization “Livestrong” in 1997. Armstrong retired from the foundation in 2012 after his doping admission.
