Following the sudden death of CEO John Barton, announced by British clothing retailer Ted Baker Plc on December 6, 2021, the company has now released an update on the planning and composition of its board of directors.
In it, Ted Baker confirmed that a formal search for a new chairman was underway. In the meantime, Helena Feltham will continue to work as interim chair, as announced on December 6th.
Andrew Jennings OBE, who had already notified the company of his intention to resign from the Board of Management on January 29, 2022 (as announced by the company on November 5, 2021), has agreed in view of the changed circumstances, no later than the 2022 Annual General Meeting as to remain non-executive board member.
“This move ensures continuity on the board and Andrew will continue in his role as Chairman of the Compensation Committee. The board would like to thank Andrew for his continued support during this time, ”said a statement from Ted Baker.
Furthermore, Meg Lustman will take over the position of Non-Executive Director with effect from January 29, 2022, which is currently held by Helena Feltham. This function is responsible for employee engagement.
