Angela Nicoletti, who divorced Andy McCoy, opens up about the reasons for the divorce

An artist couple Angela Nicoletti-Hulkon and Andy McCoy’s was reported to have divorced last summer. Nicoletti filed for divorce alone in March 2021.

Now Nicoletti has opened up about the background to the divorce in an interview with Helsin Sanomat.

– When I met Andy, I became a pleaser and lost myself. In 2018, I woke up. I had to lose Andy to find myself again, Nicoletti told HS.

– I learned these things quite late in life. I’m becoming the real Angela Nicoletti again.

Before the divorce, the couple lived apart for a long time. Andy McCoy moved to Helsinki, and Nicoletti stayed in Karkkila.

– My dear husband has lived in Helsinki for six months now. He is not a rustic man. The distance is only 45 minutes, Nicoletti commented to Iltalehte last spring.

At the time, Andy McCoy also opened up about the reasons for his decision and denied the relationship crisis.

– Angela and I are together, we are 45 minutes away from each other. I’m here for art exhibitions and I’m making music, Andy McCoy told Iltalehte.

The couple got married in 1991. They managed to be together for 30 years.

Andy McCoy and Nicoletti’s love started in the 90s in Hollywood rock clubs.

– We met many times before we ended up together. The bad situation when we ended up together was in Los Angeles at the Coliseum, backstage of the Rolling Stones, Andy McCoy has said.

– From there, the relationship began to live its own life. That thing had grown for a year, we looked at each other in different places. That interest was from both sides. That baker was just the icing on the cake.
