Tour de France on TV: Free choice with several channels

Cycling fans have a free choice at the Tour de France and can also watch the tour free of charge on various TV channels this year. The free TV channels ARD, One and Eurosport offer an extensive program on several channels.

ARD has concluded a new contract with the cycling event organizer Amaury Sport Organization (ASO) via the sports rights agency SportA. According to its own statements, the first shows daily live coverage of the world’s largest bicycle race from July 1st to 24th, which usually lasts from 4:05 p.m. to 5:25 p.m.

The ARD special channel One broadcasts from half an hour after the start until the beginning of the transmissions in the first. There are other live broadcasts on the Internet at “sportschau.de” and on the TV channel Eurosport. The sports provider, which can also be received free of charge, has a tour contract with the ASO that runs until 2025.

Commentator for the main program of the ARD is Florian Naß. Co-commentator is Fabian Wegmann. Florian Kurz sits behind the microphone for the internet live stream and One, co-commentators are Paul Voß and Johannes Fröhlinger.

At the same time, Eurosport also offers extensive live reporting. Commentator at the special interest channel is Karsten Migels. Jens Voigt and Robert Bengsch have again been hired as experts, and Bernie Eisel is on site as a reporter. New to the Eurosport program is the “Velo Club”, a half-hour analysis show right after each stage.
