Ostend straightens out against Torhout
Against Harelbeke, Ostend went down remarkably on Friday evening with 5-3. They didn’t want that to happen on Torhout’s field.
Torhout does create the first danger on goal with Andries’ shot that caresses the crossbar. An industrious Ambrose is clearly shaken awake and decorates a penalty that he also converts himself: 0-1. The Ostend defense is still asleep when it clumsily loses the ball and Pyck Torhout kicks alongside. Ambrose again assures the coastal team of a 1-2 lead at half time.
A practice match also means a cartload of substitutions, which Ostend coach Yves Vanderhaeghe brings in on the hour. Only captain Tanghe remains standing and he sees his team miss a series of opportunities. Ten minutes before time it is still hit for the first division. Patoulidis puts the 1-3 final score on the board.
The match against Torhout set the counter for Ostend at four practice matches in twelve days. Next week, the troops of Vanderhaeghe will look Amiens and Oudenaarde in the eye. The coach hopes that reinforcements will be added in every line.
