We football fans have been cheated! Namely about our deserved World Cup summer!
Do you remember? Of course, how could one forget the summer fairy tale of 2006. Berlin showed the world how to celebrate a football festival. The pictures of the happy fan mile on June 17 went around the world. Poldi and Schweini performed magic on the pitch, Miro Klose did somersaults. In the end a great third place for Klinsi’s boys.
Much more important: the world was visiting friends, and the summer was SCHWARZ-RED-GEIL.

2014 another summer fairy tale. This time Germany scooped the title in Brazil. Then it was off to the fans at the Brandenburg Gate in the “Siegerfluger” with the gold cup. That was the crowning glory.
This time the World Cup will not take place in the summer. The controversial tournament in Qatar does not kick off until November 21st. Reason: In the Gulf state it is too hot to play football in the summer.
Can this even go well? World Cup is when you can also watch the evening game in the beer garden. World Cup is when you bathe in the fountain with your fan jersey after the win. World Cup is a motorcade on a summer night.
What now? Motorcade with winter tires? Down jacket with DFB logo? Black, red and gold umbrellas?
Nah, a real World Cup feels different and that’s why we were cheated this summer!
