VfL Bochum let his defensive talent Armel Bella-Kotchap go. The Revierclub agreed to a move to Southampton FC.

Coach in Southampton is the former Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhüttl. Bella-Kotchap has been with VfL since 2017 and played 26 competitive games for Bochum in the past season, who previously lost Sebastian Polter (FC Schalke 04) and Maxim Leitsch (FSV Mainz 05).
