Five arrested in investigation into large-scale cannabis farms

Five people were arrested last week in a long-term investigation into large-scale hemp plantations. The police raided several places, including Emmen. Two Amsterdam main suspects are held responsible for involvement in at least nine rolled up plantations.

Six of the nine nurseries were discovered in Amsterdam and Almere in the period from the end of 2018 to last month. Three other nurseries were found in Emmen, Kampen and Zeewolde.

The raid in Emmen took place on Tuesday. At the same time there were raids in Amsterdam, Kampen and Zeewolde. A car was seized in Amsterdam, as well as goods used to make soft drugs. At all locations, the police seized about 5,000 cannabis plants, which have been destroyed. A firearm was also found on one of the plantations.

Three people were arrested in Emmen, Kampen and Zeewolde.
