Retention for Jong Volendam after a convincing win over Jong Almere City

Jong FC Volendam will play in the second division again next season. In the return of the play-off against Jong Almere City, they won 3-0 this afternoon. That was more than enough after the 1-0 defeat in the first leg.

The team of trainer Kiki Musampa immediately made short work of the visitors. After fifteen minutes striker Koen Blommestijn headed a cross from Younes Taha against the ropes: 1-0. Just before half time it was Taha himself who scored. The midfielder was attentive after a shot against Tayrell Wouter’s post and hit hard in the rebound.

Sjors Kramer seemed to help Jong Almere City in the beginning of the second company by hitting the ball wrong. Substitute Joshua Zimmerman could therefore only approach goalkeeper Kayne van Oevelen. Fortunately for Jong Volendam, he did not score.

Decision despite red card

A good header by Blommestijn in the 56th minute seemed to decide the game. However, it was still exciting for a while, because Wouter received a direct red card after a wild tackle. However, the connecting goal failed to materialize.

In addition to Jong Volendam, the Noord-Holland clubs Koninklijke HFC, AFC and OFC will also play in the second division next season.

Line-up Young FC Volendam: Van Oevelen; Tol, Kramer, Koorndijk (Read/46), Hilton; Van Duijl, De Haan (Nazih/82), Taha (Antonioli/86); Wouter, Blommestijn (Zonneveld/86), Maloney (Blom/82)
