Spartak Moscow made a nasty joke at the expense of FC Bayern. The top Russian club shared an alleged transfer offer from Munich for striker Aleksandr Sobolev via the English-language Twitter account.
“We’re offering a €1,000 transfer fee with the following potential bonuses: €10m if Bayern win Eurovision. €15m if Manchester United win a trophy. €20m if Lionel Messi joins Real Madrid.”
What is Spartak getting at with this joke?
With its posting, the Russian capital club alludes to the transfer clauses that FC Bayern, according to media reports, offered to Liverpool for a commitment by Sadio Manés. According to this, the Munich team only wanted to pay the “Reds” a very low base fee of around 27 million euros, but increase it by a further 7.5 million euros – but only if FC Bayern won the Champions League three times in a row and Mané won the Ballon d’ Or wins.
