French storm giant in the sights of Hertha BSC

At the very last moment, Hertha BSC was able to avert relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga. In order not to get into trouble again in the new season, the Berliners are already working on newcomers. One of them could come from Ligue 1.

It seems as if Hertha’s sports director Fredi Bobic has dug out his old notebook again. A French media report brings up a player in the capital city that the official allegedly wanted to bring to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019.

What is meant is the 1.97 meter tall assault tank Ludovic Ajorque from RC Straßburg, which, according to information from “le10sport‘ shows up on the Old Lady’s radar.

The 28-year-old has been one of the most reliable goalscorers in Ligue 1 in recent seasons. Ajorque has scored a total of 45 goals since moving to Strasbourg four years ago, and 12 last season.

However, it is questionable whether Hertha would be able to pay the fee for the attacker. Ajorque’s current contract is valid until 2024, so a sum in the double-digit million range would certainly be due.

In addition, several clubs from home and abroad should also advertise the storm giant. OSC Lille is said to have particularly good cards.

Hertha BSC with oversupply in the storm center

Before Hertha can sign a new nine, however, professionals must first be given up. According to the current status, there are six (!) nominal center forwards in the squad for 2022/2023.

In addition to Stevan Jovetic, Ishak Belfodil and Davie Selke, the returnees on loan Krzysztof Piatek and Daishawn Redan as well as Jessic Ngankam, brought from Fürth with a buyback option, are also in the Berlin team.

Seems like Fredi Bobic will have to prove his sales skills before he can go full-on at Ajorque.
