In Britain, a four-day celebration will begin on Thursday in honor of Queen Elizabeth, 96. It will be 70 years since his coronation.
The Platinum Jubilee is full of bigger and smaller events and occasions that have been celebrated throughout the early part of the year and even after the coming weekend the festivities will continue across the island nation.
In all, more than 16,000 street parties are held in the UK in honor of the Queen.
Gift shops also take away the joy and make money.
All sorts of anniversary bulls are on sale and there is already a reported shortage of some mugs, towels and spoons.
A wide range of tableware, chocolates, tea packs, a flashing Elisabeth doll and a plush toy corgi can still be found on the shelves of gift shops.
The queen’s festivities also attract foreign tourists to the venue, but yes, the British themselves put money into the queen’s queens.
It is estimated that a total of £ 408 million will be spent in the country for the anniversary year. Of this amount, as much as £ 281.5 million, or almost € 330 million, is splashed on memorabilia alone!
Probably the best-selling bull will be a small British flag that can be waved at a street party.
