PSV must pay a total of 50,000 euros in fines for disturbances during the home game against Leicester City in the quarter-finals of the Conference League last month.
The European Football Association UEFA announced on Friday that PSV must transfer 25,000 euros for setting off fireworks and 25,000 euros for public disturbances.
Opponent Leicester City was also fined. The English club has to pay 15,000 euros because of disturbances.
In October, PSV already had to pay 33,625 euros to UEFA. The club was then punished for misconduct by fans at the end of September during the Europa League match against Sturm Graz in Austria. During that game, the fans threw things on the field and caused destruction.
Toon Gerbrands, the general manager of PSV, was angry with the fans at the time. “We no longer accept that people misbehave in the name of PSV, especially when we are guests. This misbehavior does not fall under support and I want it to stop for good. We are doing everything we can to identify the perpetrators. The fine we will tell from them,” he said in October.
PSV lost 1-2 at home to Leicester City in mid-April, meaning the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Conference League. Feyenoord, which had to pay around 500,000 euros in fines this season for misconduct by the fans, will be in the final of the Conference League against AS Roma in two weeks.
