On Friday 14 January 2022, the cabinet announced during the press conference that the quarantine rules are changing.

The following changes to the quarantine policy are effective immediately:

If you are a roommate or close contact of someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, you do not need to quarantine if you:

  • You have tested positive less than 8 weeks ago, have recovered and have no complaints.
  • Received a booster vaccination more than 1 week ago.

Do you still get corona complaints? Then get tested

Via the Quarantine Check COVID-19 | Rijksoverheid.nl you can check per situation whether quarantine advice applies.

Childcare protocol

RIVM processes the above changes in the guidelines. Because the childcare protocol is a translation of the guidelines of the RIVM, the new version of the protocol will be published in the course of this week when the RIVM has processed the changes.

Crucial professions

The cabinet also announced on Friday that there may be an exception to the quarantine rules for persons working in a crucial profession and who do not fall under the two exceptions mentioned above. This needs to be worked out and has not yet entered into force. If this exception takes effect, we will inform you as soon as possible.
