Two seriously injured after explosion on boat: victims suffer burns

Two people were seriously injured in an explosion on a boat in Den Bosch on Sunday night. It is said to be a man and a woman who suffered serious burns. They have been taken to hospital. According to a 112 correspondent, the two were able to ask for help near where their boat was docked.

At around ten past one, the emergency services were called to the Grevelingen in Den Bosch after a report of two injured people. The victims of the explosion are said to have asked for help at a care home after which they were put under a shower.

At that moment it became clear that the two had been injured in an explosion on a boat that was moored in the Zuid-Willemsvaart, near the Merwedelaan. It is unknown what caused the explosion on board the boat.

Police and firefighters spent up to three hours investigating the boat. The care home, where the victims were eventually able to ask for help themselves, is about five hundred meters from where the boat was moored.
